Lego Dimensions - Dean dreams up future expansions

Lego Dimensions was the first collectible game that piqued my interest.  I have loved Lego since I was a child, and the combination of licensed universes is a real coup for the gaming world.  The game was released last September and has been releasing expansions and extra characters consistently since then but the stream of content is currently set to end in May with only 3 fun packs remaining.  When the game was launched they indicated they had a 3 year release plan, but nothing beyond May has been spelled out, and frankly I was expecting to get some hints about summer releases by now.  It is possible the series isn't selling as planned and the 3 year plan was shuttered but let's dream together what it could be.  Let's ponder what worlds could come crashing together in Dimensions.

First, I will roll out the most obvious choices which is licenses that Lego already has or had recently.  I have a feeling Star Wars is too big to add, but they have been successfully paired with Lego for a long time now.  Harry Potter is done delivering box office magic, but the prequel of sorts Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is dropping this year and since the Lego sets sold well this is a gimme.  I imagine this would get multiple sets including a Level Pack (Harry, Hedwig, and a Hippogriff?) a Team Pack (Hermoine, Ron, Weasley Flying Car, and a Broom?) and a Fun Pack (Hagrid and his Motorcycle?).  The next obvious set would be Pirates of the Caribbean which would give them a more water based world and was another popular Lego series that also would allow them to promote their base Pirates line.  And the final more obvious choice would be sliding the Marvel heroes into the game with the DC characters that are already there.  If this dropped in the summer Civil War would already be blowing up the box office, and they could use some characters like the Guardians of the Galaxy to get back into space in a different way than the Doctor Who line that was already released.  I think an Ant-Man level would be a unique addition to the series.

The next wave of possible licenses would be some aimed more directly at a younger crowd.  Teen Titans, or the cartoony Teen Titans Go would fall under the existing DC license and tap into a wildly popular TV fanbase.  On the same grounds Adventure Time or Spongebob Squarepants could join the party, and Spongebob has already existed in Lego form.

And finally, which random classic licenses could Lego obtain like the Ghostbusters and Back to the Future releases we have already?  I would love to see another game license like the Midway release that isn't tied to any of the consoles get involved and the biggest win would be Sega.  Sonic and Tails would be a strong addition as characters or a level pack.  There have been rumors that an iconic 80's TV show may be announced which would likely indicate the A-Team or Knight Rider or....Both?!? Mr.T in Lego would be a dream come true, and I would love to ride around in KITT or the iconic A-Team van.  Indiana Jones has gotten the Lego treatment before and could return, but how about something new like The Goonies, or a dark turn into Labyrinth?  I think my dream of a Lego Jareth may not be possible.  Although Bowie was in the Lego Rock Band game, so it might not be as crazy as it seems.
