I am a sucker for Kickstarters as it feels like I am helping other people realize their dreams without selling out to a large corporation. Now, many corporations are using/abusing similar services but I still think you can find cool and unique offerings especially if you love retro gaming. Pixel Noir recently launched and is billed as "A JRPG-inspired detective game set against a film noir backdrop. Think Earthbound meets Sin City." That premise coupled with a Noir 8-Bit soundtrack had me intrigued. It is also comforting to see that the goal is reasonable (30k) and it quickly reached 55% of that goal after launch so I would say it has a strong chance at getting funded. It is currently set to be released on PS4, PS Vita, PC, and Mac, but a stretch goal could get it to Xbox and it is the very first Stretch goal so odds are ever in your favor Xboxers.
Check out the Kickstarter here to read more about the game, sample the soundtrack, or download a playable computer demo. Or if this game excites you like it did me back the project. I would recommend the "Inside Man" level to get the soundtrack and Beta access.
