Breaking Madden, better than the real game

If the game stops tracking you have to get creative.

I stopped buying Madden a few years ago.  I am one of the many who loved the 2K series (10 Years dead by this point) and despite multiple efforts Madden doesn't seem to be able to get their act together to make a decent game.  They have created an odd meta game that is sorta like the real thing but in many incredible fundamental ways it isn't and you feel it.  However, this does not mean that Madden does not bring me joy, because 2 years ago SBNation writer Jon Bois started writing a weekly post titled Breaking Madden about his attempts to push the game to its limits.  It is a hilarious feature that is required reading for football or video game fans through the season.  Below I have included one of his many excellent GIFs that litter each article this one of the fabled BEEFTANK who is a 5 foot 400 pound Quarterback who can't throw but can run like a Sherman Tank.  You will learn a lot about games and their limits like Madden stops counting your points accurately after you cross 200, or that players with their "Awareness" at 0 will do the darnedest things.  Go catch up on his first 2 seasons because you will want to make this series part of your life.
