Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series sure has seen several ups and downs throughout the franchise, but it's been a long time since we have seen a true entry in the series. Recently, it was announced that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 will be released this Fall for XBOX 360, XBOX One, Playstation 3 and Playstation 4. A trailer for the game soon followed, and whispers began surfacing of the game running on an outdated Unreal Engine 3:
It also was announced that not all of the original skaters from the series would be returning, and that the game would be focusing more on the up-and-coming skaters. Despite all of this, I am hopeful that this game will have decent play mechanics, and an awesome soundtrack like most of the previous games. But for a minute let us compare it to Tony Hawk's Project 8. This game I played for hours on end on my 360, as it had some awesome level design and at the time cutting edge graphics. However, the trailer for THPS5 to some does not look as good as Project 8. Here is some gameplay for Project 8 that was released on XBOX 360 / PS3. You be the judge.
