Final Fantasy VI finally comes to Steam

Final Fantasy VI had been the lone holdout in the classic 2d lineup that hadn’t been touched up and made available on Steam or next gen consoles.  While the graphical changes are hated by some, it is nice to see that the game will be playable starting next week on Dec 16th.  The title is now old enough to drink after being released 21 years ago as Final Fantasy III on the SNES system where it was largely considered the best final fantasy game until VII dropped on Playstation and blew open the genre a few years later.  The steampunk setting of FFVI was considerably ahead of its time and many have been anticipating this release with considerable fervor.  Personally, I have not played through the game since I was a teenager and I really look forward to tapping into one of the better games from my formative years.
