Next-Gen Dave here, I wanted to talk with you briefly about Halo 5: Guardians Requisition Packs AKA "The REQ System" which you will be able to find the REQ Packs in the Store section of the Spartan Hub. These things to me are amazing and I love them. Req packs are obtained while playing through matches alongside your friends or foes. You will be able to build up requisition points (along with XP points), which in turn can be used to purchase REQ packs with these special cards inside. You will be able to utilize these cards/perks when playing multiplayer matches to gain advantages in modes like Warzone. Earning these points is easily done by simply playing a match and when a certain objective is completed, you will be rewarded with points. Some of these objectives may be killing sprees, base defense, splatters and of course my favorite head shots. Depending if you are a MLG super player or a novice with a KDA (kills, deaths, assists) of 0.1 you will still gain REQ points, which is a sigh of relief for most people.
REQ packs in video games are not new by any means and we definitely can see they are modeled after the supply drops in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare which were very popular with players. In my opinion, I think one thing people love is that it is like a modern day treasure hunt. There is an ultra wide variety of items you can receive, from something common to (wait for it……) LEGENDARY. There are six different requisition packs that are available: Gold Packs, Silver, Bronze, Supply, and Promotional. Oh and I almost forgot about the Spartan Rank and Commendation Packs. These packs will usually trigger when you reach certain heights in your Halo career like ranking up or completing different weapons challenges.
The five different styles of REQ cards in Halo 5: Guardians are ranked from least to greatest: common, uncommon, rare, ultra rare and legendary. The higher level of REQ pack you unlock, the greater chance you will receive a rare or legendary card. Each style is color coded so you will be able to easily identify them. You will know you have scored a legendary item when you hear the birthday horn, like when you would shoot grunt in the head. (Yeah, that sound!)
In conclusion, I feel these REQ packs are really cool, and bring a very unique play style to this game. With so many options and a wide variety of styles you will be hard pressed to see any other Spartans in multiplayer looking like you. To me REQ packs are like Pokémon, because I want them all! You should definitely grab some REQ packs and so you can see what all the fuss is about. Check out these few videos (above) as well that I made of me opening some that I earned in game. Look how fun it is! Now let’s stop reading and go play some Halo 5!
