Top 3 video games we would love to see get the "Mario Maker" treatment

With the huge success of Super Mario Maker on the WiiU, the tablet format seems perfect for other series to get the "Mario Maker" treatment.  I personally love the Super Mario Maker interface, as it is user intuitive and is perfect for updates and expansion via DLC.  I have no doubt that even after the free November update for Super Mario Maker, that Nintendo will continue to support the game with DLC.  As I said before, I think it would be really cool to add in a Super Mario Bros. 2 tile set as well as some missing characters (Reznor, Chargin' Chucks, etc.)  However, I think there is obvious room for expansion in the "Maker" universe.  Here are my top video game series I would like to create games for:

1. The Legend of Zelda Maker

This seems like a no brainer, and is the most likely candidate for the next release in the "Maker" series.  I predict tile sets for NES, GameBoy, SNES, and 3DS versions. All should be easily compatible between the four games.  This could result in the most expansive title, and will result in endless challenges.  I would love to place a giant Gohma inside a room with traps that can only be accessed across a lava floor with a ladder. Nintendo needs to make this happen. I guarantee more WiiU system sales if this is ever released.

2. Metroid Maker

Okay, now this is even more difficult than a Zelda Maker, but let's be clear here. Who wouldn't want to make their own alien planet?  I would love to create mini mazes for my friends to play. Want to make a Mega Ridley in the NES version? You could do that! The tricky part would be implementing the vertical stages, but those could be worked around.  Tile set candidates would include NES, GameBoy, SNES, and GBA graphics.

3. Sonic the Hedgehog Maker

This one shouldn't be too hard to do, since most of the Sonic games are the same play style.  I think it would be cool to make series of loops, tubes, springboards, and more.  I would include tile sets from the Original Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic & Knuckles, Sega Master System / Game Gear, and Sonic Rush DS.  Don't you dare put a Sonic Boom tile set in there Sega!  Have the ability to scan in a new set of Amiibo figures such as Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Robotnik, and more!

Other Candidates for a "Maker Series"

Some other honorable mentions would include some of my favorite series like Mega Man. There is so much to pull from in the Mega Man universe, I would love to make my own Mega Man levels, include random bosses as a surprise.  Maybe have the NES, SNES, Game Boy, and DS tile sets. It could easily be done, because like Sonic above, most Mega Man games are similar.

Mario Kart is another game that would be awesome.  We have had Stunts since 1990 (below), there is no reason why Mario Kart cannot be done in the same fashion. I want to be able to make my own tracks, set ramps, loops, giant nanners, and more.  Tile sets include Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Double Dash, and Mario Kart 8.  Scan in all of your Amiibos to drive in the course, each one can be programmed to their appropriate weight class so they handle the same as they do in the game.

What do you think? Any other series you would like to see get a "Maker" game? The possibilities are endless!
